Often times, insecure people, are also critical people. My insecurities then led to me becoming critical about issues that normally wouldn’t bother me. Things that my husband said that I would normally find funny, all of a sudden offended me and made me insecure. I started getting grumpy, and irritated and super insecure about really little things. Last week, after leading my ladies’ Bible Study, I got into this funk and I couldn’t put my finger on why. Had I run into this issue 5 years ago, it could have affected me the whole week or month or longer. That is one thing you will start to notice when you begin to apply God’s Truth and prayer to an area of captivity that rears its ugly head… it will take less and less time to work through it and find freedom through Christ. From start to finish, the whole thing lasted half a day. I’m going to take some time today to share an area of captivity that I struggled with last week. This past week of homework (week 3) discusses sins that can prevent us from living the abundant life Jesus desires to give us: If you aren’t enjoying these benefits, it’s likely due to spiritual captivity.
